Family #13: Naisha - ADOPTED

Naisha is originally from Bronx, NY, but she moved to PA when she was 12. Both of her parents raised her until her mother passed away in 2019. Her father moved to the Carolinas shortly after her mother passed, and Naisha has experienced housing instability ever since.

She is now a soon-to-be first-time mom and is excited to start the next chapter of her life. So far, her pregnancy has been stressful, as there have been some nights when she was unsure where she would stay. Yet, she knows that having a child is life-changing and she is committed to providing him with everything he needs.

Naisha is working on getting things together to give her son the life she feels he deserves. She recently moved into Life House’s maternity program and is preparing for her baby’s arrival in the spring of 2023! Her short-term goals include securing a stable job and returning to school. She hopes these short-term goals will lead her to long-term goals: stable housing and a career that will allow her to provide for her family. Naisha is also focused on growing and maturing as a person, woman, and mother. She wants to move forward and progress. She is working on herself, and now that she is in a safe and secure environment, she has the time and space to do so.

“This program has given me an opportunity no one else could have. I am beyond grateful I don’t know what I’d do without them, but they are helping me create and begin to build the life I need to provide for my son. If it wasn’t for them, I’d be completely lost.”
