Family #12: Amanda - ADOPTED

Amanda is 29 and has a family of three, along with a baby boy on the way. Her eight-year-old son was diagnosed with Noonan syndrome. He is resilient and has not allowed obstacles to get in his way—including many surgeries and health complications. Amanda’s four-year-old Ariyah was diagnosed with Autism and is non-verbal; however, she is blossoming into a smart and courageous young girl despite her difficulties. Amanda expresses how both children came into her life at the right time, and being their mom inspires her to grow each day as she navigates her way through the challenges. She is learning to give them the best care she can.

When asked about her life, Amanda said, “I am a momma that's always on her toes, sleeping with one eye open, making sure both kids' needs are met! My life revolves around theirs, and they've given me my purpose in life. I usually go above and beyond for them, but I am struggling right now due to my relocation and pregnancy. We moved from NY to PA for a better environment and support from my mother. I was alone in NY and needed help, and now I'm struggling a bit more. But I have faith I will get us back to what we deserve."

How has CGLH made an impact on you and your family?

“CGLH has impacted me already by acknowledging my family and their needs. They've gone above and beyond for my baby, who isn't even here yet, by acknowledging all of his needs already.”

What are some long-term goals that you are working towards?

"Long-term goals would be putting a roof over our heads. Starting my own business in mental health & wellness, living a more holistic lifestyle. Owning some land."

What is one thing you would like our community supporters to know about the LifeHouse?

“They are a community that genuinely cares for pregnant women and their families.”
