Family #10: Sadie - ADOPTED

Sadie is a single mother of four. Her two youngest are with her full-time, and she shares custody of the other two. She has left an abusive relationship that threatened her life and is currently rebuilding her life on her own. She is trying to be a great example of strength, resilience, and perseverance for her children. She hopes and prays that someday they will be proud of all she has managed to overcome and accomplish.

Her long-term goal is to work with CareerLink to enroll in a training program. She hopes to become either a dental hygienist or a licensed practical nurse so she can be independent and self-sufficient. She is focused on herself and not feeling “trapped” and suffering at the hands of another.

Unfortunately, the circumstances have created significant challenges for Sadie and her children. It has been extremely hard for her to explain to her children why they can’t have things or do some of the same things as other kids their age. Sadie and her children are grateful for all the help to make their holidays a little brighter for her amazing children.

How has CGLH made an impact on you and your family?

“Cay Galgon has really made an impact by providing essential clothing, diapers, wipes, and toiletries to my family, easing some of my stress in caring for my children. They gave my baby a safe place to sleep and answered all my questions, sending me to the right places to get the help we needed. I am grateful to this program and hope one day I too can give back to the community in such a big way!”

What is one thing you would like our community supporters to know about the Life House?

“This a great program. What I really like is that the clothing and reusable supplies they donate to myself and my children, I can bring it back to help the next person. That, to me, is amazing, especially because children grow so quickly, yet their clothing and other necessities are so expensive!”
